From George's first extraordinary solo work 'Wonderwall' which was also the first Album released on Apple to 'Extra Texture' which was the last album released on Apple and all the diversity and outpouring of genius in between ~ a most welcome addition to The Dark Horse Years Box Set.
Wonderwall * Electronic Sound * All Things Must Pass * Living in the Material World
Dark Horse * Extra Texture
THE APPLE YEARS BOX SET MUST SURELY QUALIFY FOR HAVING THE BEST AND MOST ENTICING AD EVER :-) ALL THOSE LITTLE SNEAKY BITS OF FOOTAGE OF GEORGE THAT HAVE NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE!
25 February 2014 marked what would have been officially George's 71st Birthday. (Or the 24th as is now considered more likely!)
We celebrated it in grand style in a 24 hour special on Facebook with a post every minute. (phew!)
We also sponsored the Sundar Aarti (beautiful worship) at 7.00 a.m at Bhaktivedanta Manor. This is an extra special devotion as "Govinda" is played before it in every Hare Krishna Temple around the world.

Beatles Stories...
This showed in Liverpool on June 6th 2013 - FAB -
When For George heard there was a new film out with reminiscences by people who had met The Beatles we weren't that excited to be honest. Its always the same old people with the same old stories that they have dined out for years on.
But... ever optimistic we dutifuly trotted along to the screening in Liverpool on 6th June.... and are we glad we did!
The main thing that sets this particular film apart from others is that is has been made by a devoted FAN who already knew all the old stories and wanted to hear some new ones for himself. Seth's love for The Fabs comes through and you can see him hanging on waiting to hear the story for himself. He didn't want the same old tired anecdotes either.
He has assembled quite an illustrious band of people including Smokey Robinson (George's favourite and any devoted fan worth their salt will know that George dedicated not just one but two tunes to Smokey), Justin Hayward (Moody Blues), Graham Nash (Hollies and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young), Davy Jones (Monkees). Norman (Hurricane) Smith, Ken Scott as well as fans.
Ofcourse, For George concentrated on all the George Stories (fabulous account of Iris Cauldwell who was the sister of Rory Storm and her first kiss with George) but it is probably even better for an all round Beatle fan as there are super stories of John, Paul and Ringo as well to savour.
Our favourite story was the one of the Apple Scruff (one of the band of fans about whom George wrote "Apple Scruffs") - she shows some of her incredible photos of George and reads the letter that he wrote to them... but you will have to get the dvd if you want to know the rest.
For George will be getting the dvd too because we can pause and go back to all the George bits again and again and ALSO Seth says there is lots more on the dvd than there was in the film.
We give this 5 Stars - Well done Seth, it shows that you made this with love and not for profit - which doesn't mean we do not hope you make loads of money out of it so that you can go back and make another one!:-)
ps There was tons more on the DVD ~ a fantastic story about George....
For anyone who could not make it to the screening the dvd is available on the site too.

The Magical Gardens at Friar Park
‘One gets an enormous sense of wonderment whilst reading Claude Hitching's marvellous description of the replica ‘Matterhorn’ and Rock Garden at Friar Park in his newly published book, Rock Landscapes – The Pulham Legacy, published by The Antique Collectors Club (Cover Price £35). He also describes the magical lakes, with their stepping stones - used to great effect in George's video "Crackerbox Palace" - that made Sir Frankie Crisp's astounded guests believe that the Butler was walking on water as he crossed over them on his way to bring them a tray of drinks. Sir Frank built the 120-roomed neo-Gothic mansion, and landscaped the 37 acres of gardens that comprise Friar Park, and George immortalised him in his beautiful tune "Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp - Let It Roll".
The Japanese Garden with the Tea House - as seen in the video for "True Love" - is another whimsical delight. Most of all, however, Claude's description of the underground grottoes and the caves leaves one with the feeling that the World was indeed blessed for having people like Sir Frankie - who had the vision to commission a place of such fantasy - and George, for stepping in so that it could not be sold off to a developer in 1970. Instead of being torn down it remains a Paradise lovingly restored by George with his own hands.
Friar Park is just one of the many magnificent gardens throughout England that employed James Pulham & Son to create spectacular settings from stone, and this book has been dedicated to Claude's Grandfather, who worked for the firm. Although Claude was not allowed to photograph the gardens, he has used original photos and postcards from the turn of the century to illustrate this magical place. It’s the nearest that many of us will ever get to a stroll through one of George's greatest achievements"
To buy the Book please visit Claude’s website at www.pulham.org.uk, where you can go to the ‘Buy the Book’ page to find direct links to the product pages of ACC (the publisher), Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com. All of these contain the ‘Look Inside’ facility to enable you to preview a few pages before you buy, and, once you’ve done that, you’ll be hooked.

George with Gary Wright
On 29th november 2001 Gary Wright recorded "To Discover Yourself". He had worked with George on this song in 1971 - Gary wrote the words and George wrote the music. It was Gary's way of marking the day. on the same album "Connected" is another collaboration with George - on this one George plays guitar "Never Give Up" from 1989.
In 1971 George played with Gary on the Dick Cavett Show... in the background with his head down
